Changing it up!

I have a friend who is throwing a wedding shower soon and asked for my thoughts on what she could make for the invites.  She and I went thru the catalog and she spotted something that struck her fancy!  So.....I ordered what she needed and have, hopefully to her ok, come up with the invite layout with a few tweaks :)  Fingers crossed she loves it because it's the only one I came up with!  I had the cardstock already on hand so there was no need for me to dig into her stash of goodies.  Only thing I did not use was the stamp that she's using.  I didn't have the same one so I simply switched up and used this Happy Birthday one because it's pretty darn close to the same size as her stamp.  The invites will actually have Mr & Mrs stamped:)

Get Well

I have a dear, sweet friend who is having surgery this week.  She is actually the very first person I met the first day I went to College.  WOW the history she and I share!!!  We ended up sharing an apartment later in our lives as well.  Again, WOW the history we share:)  We have not lived in the same town, let alone the same State, for years!  That, however, has not hindered our friendship over the years.  Well, I can't let her surgery go without having a card waiting for her in her mailbox now can I?  I hope that it helps put a smile on her face and may she have a super speedy recovery! Love you Annie girl!

MDS ™ Template

Sometimes you just have to go the easy route and use something you already have.  I knew that I really wouldn't have the time today to play much so I simply hopped onto MyDigitalStudio and used a page already done.  Only thing left for me to do was find a picture I wanted to add to it.  What I mean by "already done" is that Stampin'Up! has templates that have already been created for us if we want to use them and literally, all you have to do is add the picture or pictures you want.  Also can add text but for today, I chose not to:)  SIMPLE!  Hope you enjoy todays blog shot of our dog, Sully.  That lovely sparkle in his eye was added from my then, new camera.

He is the cutest,  right? :)

Epic Day This and That ™

First off, I have to admit, I'm a tad bit excited as I just discovered how to make the ™ on my computer!  It's the little things that excite me:)  Whenever you are in search of how to create symbols on your own computer, just google "how to create symbols" and there are plenty of sights to share their secrets!

I was in search of a layout to recreate and so I pulled out one of my trusty stampin'success® copies!  Believe it or not but I copied and changed out from a Christmas Card:)  Amazing how you can totally revamp a card that you copy just by switching out the colors and theme.  I could have added some background stamping to this card but I'm liking the clean crispness of it just the way it is:)

Cardstock...Basic Gray, Very Vanilla and So Saffron

This and That complete:)

I just wanted to share the completed package for the baby shower I attended on Saturday.  Just a reminder, I gave the mom to be the This and That Bundle.  Was great fun to create the card using the same materials as the gift itself!  In my book, one can never go wrong with basic postage wrap or butcher paper for wrapping a gift!  And what goes even better with it?  Burlap baby!!!  I wanted to make this card personal for her so I used the new Designer Typeset Photopolymer Stamps and stamped the little baby girl's name:)

Yep, it was a hit!  :)

This and That

OHOHOHOHOH I am excited!!!!!!  I just got my Epic Day This and That Bundle and opened it up!!! Pure beauty I tell you!!!!!  I told you I would try and put the sad cards away for awhile and boy howdy did I ever!

Yep, I'm easily entertained:)  I happily bring you a new line that Stampin'Up! has...Epic Day This and That...and until April 30th, you can get it for 15% off for the whole shebang!  It comes with Designer Series Paper, Rotary Stamp, Designer Stickers, Designer Washi Tape and a Journal....LOVE at first sight for me:)  $32.08 people! without the shipping and tax of course.    Say hello to my new love!

I am not, nor will I ever be, a pastel kinda gal, this kit speaks to me :)  This particular card is for a baby shower I am attending this weekend.  The guest of honor just happens to also be our Yoga Instructor at Church as well as a Chiropractor.  I don't see her as a frilly, pastel kinda gal either. Hope she enjoys it because, for her gift...she's getting this same kit!  Yep, she can journal her wishes for her baby girl, attach pictures of the little one, scribble down Dr. appts., you name it.  May this inspire you to go outside the box for gifts as well as for your own use.

Supplies...
Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper, Stickers, Washi Tape.
Cardstock...Crumb Cake
Punch...Fancy Flower
Ink...Crumb Cake
Stamp...Retired background stamp in Linen I believe.

Don't worry, I have my own Bundle of Epic Day This and That:)  Just didn't want anyone thinking I opened up hers and used it for her card!

Lovely as a Tree

Aw Spring!  The trees have leaves starting and the bulbs are going bonkers right now!  I LOVE SPRING!

With that, I'm not quite sure why I have so many Sympathy and Thinking of you cards posted lately.  Guess it's just the news lately and the fact that it's something we all have to deal with.  I promise, I will do my best to start creating upbeat and light mood cards for awhile:)

Stamp Sets...Lovely as a Tree and Thoughts and Prayers
Cardstock...Night of Navy, Very Vanilla and River Rock

And the rains begin

After such a sad day on Monday, in Boston, todays rains seem to feel more like a cleansing.  For all affected, please know that you are in my prayers.  This bird just seems to say "peace".  I have to admit, I have had it made for awhile now as I went to the Dentist earlier and just not in the creative mode!  This is one of those cards that are better hand delivered to the recipient instead of the Postal Service delivering it!  Ever had one of those cards that you just can't seem to part with?  Yep, this is one of those cards for me!  May it bring you a sense of peace!

May we all receive that cleansing rain:)

Serene Silhouettes...part two

I realize I made a card, using this same stamp, just a few days ago but....I can't help myself!  I am copying an idea that I saw in the Stampin Success, Jan-Feb Issue.  They used a Birthday Cake to show how to add different colors to a stamp for more interest along with adding layers at the bottom of the card itself.  I chose this stamp instead for a friend from church.  She recently lost her mom and if you have experienced that, you know how it feels to receive a card in the mail, from a friend.  I could have added a saying on it but honestly, I love the clean look on this one!

Supplies...
Stamp Set...Serene Silhouettes
Cardstock...Whisper White, Calypso Coral and Basic Gray
Markers...Calypso Coral and Basic Gray
Tasteful Trim Bigz XL
Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Embossing Folders

May you enjoy your mom, if she is still around because...once she isn't, it's a whole different ballgame.

Thank You

I made this card for my upline.  She taught us MDS via gotomeeting online and it was so awesome to learn from watching  live!  I hope this card puts a smile on her face because she is so appreciated!

Are you all still eating left over Easter candies? :)

Not always

Sometimes cards don't appear as the "norm" when it comes to sympathy cards.  When you are sending one to a dear friend, who just happens to have massive artistic talent, you can't just send the traditional...With Sympathy...card.  My kindergarten teacher, whom I have always loved, just recently lost her brother.  I needed to make her card special and non traditional...thus the "With Love" instead of "With Sympathy"  She doesn't know about this little blog of mine but I do hope and pray that she feels the love and support that I sent in her card:)

Take the time to smell the flowers, if you have any in bloom yet!
