Manly Bday

Happy Friday!!!

I have a dear friend, Jill, that I have talked about before on here;)  She shared some of her beautiful artwork recently and I asked permission to copy her layouts.  THANK YOU JILL! As I sat pondering what to stamp with, this image came to mind and it kind of has all three of her cards combined into one. Ok, maybe that's just in my mind:)  While stamping, I smudged a little on the DSP so...off to my cupboard I went and hunted down a splatter stamp:)  Thankfully the splatters covered up the smudge WHEW!  Figured this was a good manly birthday card to have on hand when the need arises:)

Have a fantastic weekend and please stop in again:)

Perfect Punches

Sometimes, when I start making a card, things fall into place.  This card started that way and took a turn all on it's own:(  I'm not quite sure what it's missing but I do love the color combo:)  Until I figure out what it needs, it will stay here, impatiently staring at me waiting!  Any suggestions?  Please oh please feel free to leave comments!

The Title kind of sounds like family right? JUST kidding!

I needed to send out a Thank You card to my Mother In Law this morning for my birthday present and thought I would use the same layout as the other days card.  Why change something that's broken right?
It gave me a great opportunity to use some of our new In Colors!

Designer Typeset

Oh boy!  I really took the super simple approach on this card today but when you are in a pinch, that's the way to go! Simple and quick!  I found this layout on page 81 of the new catalog and chose to leave off the Bakers Twine on the left side.  The only thing stamped is the name, Mary.  Yep, this one is going to my daughter in Colorado.  No reason other than to let her know I am thinking about her and love her to pieces!  One of the cool things about this particular stamp set is that it has the entire alphabet along with arrows and doodads of all kinds:)

My Friend

Hellooooooo Friday!!!  I don't know about you but I'm in need of a weekend and maybe a fire pit fire or two!  Nothing quite compares to sitting out on our brick patio, both dogs running around and Rocky and I enjoying the sounds of the night creatures and the crackling of the fire wood.  This card has nothing to do with that but it was on my mind so figured I'd just type it out:)

I love how, just by sponging the edges of a card and every piece of cardstock and DSP with ink, it gives the entire card dimension! What did I ever do before Crumb Cake Cardstock came to be?  It's my all time favorite and go to color!  It's just one of those shades that every color seems to go well with it.

I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing weekend with all the things that bring you smiles:)

Thoughts and Prayers

Who would have ever "thunk" that a stamp set that I usually use on Sympathy cards would be used for a Wedding card?  I know, right?  Something about this tree spoke to me tho, for this very card.  Our son is attending a wedding this weekend and this is the card that will be given to the couple.  I think they will appreciate the simplicity of it:)

Forever and Always!

Serene Silhouettes

Ok, so I admit, I'm totally taking the easy way this week and CASE'ing cards (copy and share everything)  It wasn't until after I made this card that I'm second guessing my color choice but I'm really liking it just the way it is.  This particular layout is from our Holiday Catalog which isn't out yet.  The hardest part of this card was deciding which stamps to use:)

Creative Elements

Sometimes, in our busy world, we all need a little reminder to stop, smell the roses and create!  Here is my reminder to all of you....take the time, believe me, it makes a difference!  Turn on your favorite tunes, gather together whatever jumps out at you and put them together in a way that makes you happy.  Be it a card, scrapbook page or just a doodle on a notebook!  Let that inner artist out and let her/him play!

In the latest stampin'success was this exact layout using different colors and stamps.  Hope it inspires you to go play!

Baby Shower

Hi everyone:)  Sure hope you all had a great weekend!

Our niece is having a baby girl soon and our other niece is throwing her a baby shower.  Bummer part is that we live too far away to attend.  Next best thing is buy the gift, ship it and whip up a personalized card to send to be attached to the gift:)  I believe that the mom to be loves vintage type things so I had that in mind while making this card.  Enjoy your day and please stop back in:)

Bad Hair Day

Ever had a bad hair day two days in a row? Totally mind boggling how that can affect ones mood for the day, not a good thing!  Thankfully, my new hair dresser took pity on me!  The gal that I have gone to for several years is now staying home with her new baby and other children.  Totally understand that and fully support her choice.  With raw nerves, I tried out the gal that is now working in the same place.
She did a fantastic job and actually gave me a new style. Yep, I loved it..when SHE fixed it.  When it was my turn, at home, to wash it and dry it...let's just say, not a good hair day.  Thankfully, JP let me come in today and she, once again, showed me how to fix it. Yep, I had been doing it totally backwards!  I am, once again, a happy camper:)  So...if you are still here after all the ramblings, here is the card that I am sending her letting her know how appreciated she is and that I look forward to coming back next month:)  Inspired by Shelli, once again.  LOVING this style:)

Grandmas Roses

Do you remember your grandparents back yards?  Did they have lots of flowers? Roses perhaps?  I can still visualize standing on the back steps at my grandma and grandpas house in York, Nebraska and seeing the flowers!  Maybe that is where part of my love for gardening came from:)

I have had a picture of a card I found on Pinterest, for awhile on my phone and today I decided to try my hand at recreating one of my own.  Most of the stamps I used on it are retired but I really love the end result!  Hope it brings you to a warm, loving spot from your past:)

Perfectly Penned

Thank goodness for the Perfectly Penned Set!  It comes with four sayings that I'm always in need of and todays card uses the Get Well stamp.  Gotta love it when my husband says "do you have a card for my buddy, Charles?  Off to my desk I went and whipped this one up in no time flat. Obviously nothing fancy here, just made with love and ready for hubby to write in it and send it on it's way!  Hope it helps:)

Polka Dots :)

Nothing screams Summer to me quite like polka dots!  You know....crisp, clean polka dots!  Love em:) There is a woman in our Church that teaches the young, preteen and full blown teenagers to sing in Church and she is simply amazing with them all.  Me?  I wouldn't have the patience and besides that, I can't sing worth diddly squat!  This card is being mailed to her to remind her of what a great gift she has and is always sharing it with others! Thank you Kathy for all of your hard work, you are appreciated!  Also...Thank you to Laura Milligan for the inspiration for this card:)

Oh, Hello

Happy Friday!  I am happy today as we received a beautiful day of rain yesterday and now things are growing like mad:)  Can't wait to take that first bite of a fresh tomato!  Course that's quite a few weeks away yet but hey, I still am excited about it:)  It's the little things right?

I decided to try my hand at copying another card from the new catalog.  I took the liberty to change up the colors and DSP and yep, no buttons on mine as there are in the catalog. No worries tho, I still like the way this one ended up.  It's going to a great customer of mine that I have had for years.  She did a book party for me and this is my thank you card that I will mail her:)  Hope she likes it!

Apothecary Art

I admit, I have always had a hard time using this particular set.  Why?  It's too fancy for my taste.  Sometimes tho, you need a fancy card.  Our son-in-law's parents are getting ready to hit their 30th wedding anniversary and THAT calls for fancy!!!  After stamping it, I used our blender pen and smooched the ink pads and water colored the roses.  May this card put a smile on their faces as they begin their next 30 years!

Mixing patterns

There are times when I have a very hard time liking certain papers that are suppose to go well together. This card represents one of those times and patterns. Stampin'Up! carries Double Sided Paper aka DSP and usually I have no problem using random patterns together when they come in a pack.  For some reason, this style of pattern is NOT working for me but hey, thought I'd post it for you anyway:)  Thankfully, we don't all have to like the same things:)  Here goes nothing!

Loving Thoughts

Happy Monday:)  I hope you all had the best weekend.  We were busy with a Graduation Party, a Memorial Service and a going away party for our Minister and his wife.  Lots of emotions to say the least but all in all, a very remarkable weekend surrounded by love and great memories and lots of hugs and tears.  With that in mind, when my husband asked me tonite if I made our daughter and son-in-law an Anniversary Card, I cringed!  With all that was going on, I totally spaced it off:(  No worries tho....I hunted down a card on the Demonstrators area and changed up the colors and saying and wham! DONE!  Just wish it would have been made sooner and mailed in time for them to actually receive it on their Anniversary!  Thank you to Sandy Mathis for your inspiration:)
