Summer Heat

Summer heat playing in your area today?  Kind of like we went from cold temps to hot temps in the blink of an eye.  No worries tho, tomato plants love this type of weather:)  Speaking of which, if you have never planted Heirloom Tomatoes, I strongly urge you to try at least one plant this summer, simply delicious!

I have had this particular card hanging out on my desk waiting for my brain to come up with finishing touches for it.  Finally it hit me that it needed more black somewhere on the front.  I saw someone post a video, so sorry I don't remember who to give credit to, on how to create the top of the double sided paper (designed paper).  You simply put the top portion of your paper under the top portion of a Framelit design that you want, Floral Frames Framelit used on this one, and place the bottom half of said paper on top of the Framelit before running it thru the BigShot™ For some odd reason, it kind of looks like a candle to me:)  Just another way to be creative when you are using Framelits.  I thought this particular saying fits the bill for this lovely, hot, summer day!

Supplies...
Stamp Set...Pursuit of Happiness
Ink...Early Espresso
Cardstock...Marina Mist, Basic Black and Daffodil Delight

Thursday already?  This week seems to be flying by rather quickly for some reason.  I was trying to come up with a card idea when it dawned on me, Pinterest hunt time!  LOVE that sight!  Have you ever tried out any of the recipes that you've pinned from there?  I've tried several and so far so good on all of them:)  I spotted this layout with different colors used and fell in love with it!  I have no idea why but I ended up using Halloween colors...go figure on this sweltering day!  With the crisp look of the Whisper White, any colors would work!

Hello, Doily

Happy Tuesday Everyone:)  So thankful you stopped in today!

More Mustard is getting ready to retire from the Stampin'Up! color family so I wanted to make a quick card with it today.  It's a terrific Fall color and will be missed:(

I stamped the card first before I ran it thru the Big Shot ™with the Embossing Folder.  If you have never used or purchased the Big Shot™ yet, you are missing out on a fantastic tool!  I use mine almost daily!  Everytime I use the Framelits, Embossing Folders or Edgelits, the great and mighty Big Shot™was used:).  Without further delay, here is my Get Well card for today:)

Supplies...
Stamps...Lovely as a Tree, Perfectly Penned and Hello, Doily
Inks...More Mustard and Early Espresso
Cardstock...More Mustard and Very Vanilla
Embossing Folder...Framed Tulips Folder

Others

Sometimes you simply have to drop everything and do something to help another person.  Doesn't matter if you know then or not.  When someone puts out a card request for another stamper, one who is battling cancer, you make that card and get it out pronto!  Today was that day.

As a demonstrator, we have access to a web site that is loaded with ideas from other demonstrators.  I took the liberty and tweaked someone else's idea.  Kylie Smith had posted a scrapbook page and it totally grabbed my attention!  Just so you all know, you can also take a card idea that you like and tweak it and create a scrapbook page with it:)

I hope and pray that this card finds Laura having a great day when it arrives!

Hope the weekend was kind to you:)

Really? Another?

We just heard, from one of my husband's associates, that his wife graduated Nursing School.  Yep, another Graduation card to share today:)  I have definitely gotten my monies worth out of the Dress Up Framelits!  The fun thing is that you can change the looks with making jackets, etc. for them....me? I'm simple and the dresses I create with the framelits are the same way:)  No sign of a nurses cap on this card but if we had a framelit for it, rest assured, I would have added a polka dot one:)

Bitty Banners Framelits and Dress Up Framelits
Cardstock...Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake and Whisper White
DSP  Polka Dot Parade

Serene Silhouettes

I saw a card that struck my eye today and figured I needed to try the technique.  Easy as Pie!  All you do is take 3 markers and scribble. Look around you and see what color combos speak to you and play away!  Then take a design or saying. ink it in a dark color and stamp directly over said scribbles:)  This won't be the last I do this technique!  Hope it brings you inspiration :)

Stamp Set...Serene Silhouettes
Cardstock...Marina Mist, Early Espresso and Whisper White

Epic Day This and That

We have another gal, in the neighborhood, graduating High School on the 24th.  After looking at her beautiful Senior picture, I decided to use the Epic Day This and That series vs. something frilly or fancy.  I also incorporated parts of the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit.  I love when colors come together in a snap!  Sure makes creating cards much simpler:)  I hope she notices the day I stamped on the lower right hand corner.  Yep, Graduation Day!

Graduations

In Church yesterday, our Minister asked for all newly Graduates to stand so that we could acknowledge them and their hard work.  One woman that stood, Naomi is her name, just earned her Masters in Nursing!  I can't even begin to imagine the time and blood, sweat and tears that went into achieving that!  No doubt in my mind that Naomi needs a hand made card in her mail to congratulate her again!

Lovely as a Tree

WOOHOO it's FRIDAY!!!  Hope you all have a relaxing weekend ahead with some play time in there as well:)

This stamp set has been around for years and I honestly hope they never retire it!  It's a great go to for any occasion.  I have seen this particular technique used but never took the time to try it....EASY PEASY!  I took one of my clear acrylic blocks and inked it up, stamped it on the cardstock and without reinking it, I stamped it again overlapping the first time.  Then just inked up the trees and stamped in the center:)  Wish my picture was better to show the clear, crisp look it really has.  Stamped a word underneath and poof, done!  If you have any acrylic blocks around, ink them up and put to paper and see what you come up with!!!

Supplies...
Cardstock...Very Vanilla
Inks...Pistachio Pudding and Early Espresso
Stamp Set...Lovely as a Tree and a retired set called Small Script

Have yourself a beautiful weekend and hope to see you on Monday:)

First Mother's Day

Happy Belated Mother's Day!!! I do hope that you were spoiled and simply enjoyed your special day over the weekend!

My daughter got to experience her first Mother's Day as a Mom to a perfectly adorable little boy, Carson:)  Man I miss them all!  I wanted to give her an extra special gift that she will always have to mark the first Mother's Day...The last Christmas that my mom was still alive, we took a picture of her hand, my hand and my daughter's hand semi on top of each others....when Carson was born, we took a pic of my hand, Mary's hand and Carson's hand in the same fashion.  I found the perfect plain black frame with places for two pictures...I had both pictures changed to black and white and yep, matted as well. After I put it together, you guessed it, I did the same gift for myself hehehehehe.  So thankful I have those pictures and I hope that my daughter is as touched by them as I am.  This is her card that went with the pics:)

Mosaic Madness

Happy Monday:)  At least I certainly hope you are having a happy one!

There is an older woman in our Church that recently had to have surgery.  Figured Maxine could use a little card perker upper!  Instead of using the larger stamps for this one, I concentrated on using the border stamps in it and change up the one large stamp I used.  I so wish you could see this Crisp Cantaloupe color in person, it's beautiful!

Also figured I would try a different spot to take pics of my cards...still not entirely thrilled with the results.  Any suggestions are welcome!!!

Inks...Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Baked Brown Sugar

Anniversary

Yep, I have an Anniversary card to send out this month as well as all the Birthday ones!  This one is using one of our new In Colors and I'm quickly falling in love with it!  It's not a strong color nor is it a pastel!  Perhaps it can be called a muted neutral? Works for me either way:)  Guess I was in a monochromatic mood when I whipped this one out!  For added depth, I used Stampin'Dimensionals® behind the center piece.  Gotta love automatic shadowing and depth:)

Cardstock...NEW, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla

Thank You Shelli!

Just a few short years ago, the head honcho at Stampin'Up!, Shelli Gardner, started a blog to share her heart and art!  What a blessing that has been for so many of us to follow and get inspired by:)  This card is pretty much a flat out copy job of one of her latest pieces of creativity! LOVING this new set!!!  It's one of those that just by changing the colors, changes the entire feel of the card!  This card is for a male and I think it works perfectly!

Supplies...

Mankind, I need to work on taking these pictures:(  Sorry for the massive shadow!

Birthdays

I have quite a few birthdays coming up this month so I figured I'd get a semi jump start on them.  This particular card is missing something, I just can't figure out what it is yet!  Don't worry, something will jump out at me before I actually seal it into an envelope and send it off to a birthday gal!  This card actually has some new items used on it.  Not sure if I'm to reveal the names yet so will only mention those currently available in the Catalog!

Beauty

Welcome back!  So glad you stopped into my little corner of the web:)  The other day I posted about how our lilacs were starting to bud....THIS is the beauty of them now!  Oh the memories their scent brings back.  I remember, walking to High School, there was a yard with a huge, long hedge of these beauties!  ENJOY!

Shower Invite Table Favor

I posted, a few days ago, the wedding shower invite that I pretty much copied, with a few tweaks, from the Catalog:)  Today I bring you a possible Table Favor for said Shower.  I haven't showed it to the Hostess yet but I'm hoping she'll fall in love with it!  I found this on another stampers blog, her name is Kay Kalthoff.  I chose to not use a bow and rather used a flower punch as I did on the invites.  The second picture shows that hidden box inside the dresses for a piece of chocolate:)  Take a piece of 3 x 2 1/2 inch cardstock and score it on all four sides at 3/4.  Cut down the needed areas and glue together, then glue the dresses on the outside!

Supplies...
Cardstock...So Saffron and Whisper White
DSP...Polka Dot Parade
Dress Up Framelits Dies
Punches...Cupcake Builder for the center of the flower and also Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack

Think of all the possibilities with a simple change of dress colors or patterns!!!

Have a fantastic weekend and see your smiling face on Monday:)

Jill's birthday is today hehehehehehe:)  HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLFRIEND!

Jill and I actually met online, years ago, because of our love of stamping!  Funny part is, she and I have only met in person, once!  Do we send emails and texts?  Yes, at least once or thirty times a day!  Do we share our good, happy times and sad, horrible times together? Yes!  Do we still send each other cards for no reason? Yes!  Jill lives in Minnesota and I live in Ohio....does that stop us from growing closer together over all these years, NOPE!  JILL, you, my friend, are one in a gazillion and I love you!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY:)

It arrived today!!!

My very first digital scrapbook arrived today!!! Do I LOVE it? YES!!!  Am I happy with every aspect of it? YES!!!  I had always heard that the printers that Stampin'Up! uses for their MyDigitalStudio were awesome, they were correcto mundo!  Honestly, I don't remember if I've shared this particular page so if I did earlier, so sorry!

Funny thing is, the background paper is all upside-down and backwards!  Nice thing is, I kind of like it that way:)  As my husband said, "at least people won't be trying to read what the words are".  What a guy eh?

Supplies...MyDigitalStudio

So pumped to start my next one!!!

Enjoy the scents of Spring:)
