Quirky

Hi all!  There is something about this bird that I just love:)  He/she changes personality just by me using a different color marker on his/her belly...go figure!  I love the color combo on this card and I think it's a great choice for either male or female.  Basic Gray seems to be a good base for many colors such as pink or light blue too!  Hope the bright yellow brings a blast of sunshine into your day!

Supplies...
Stamp Sets...Papaya Collage and Perfectly Penned
Cardstock...Whisper White and Basic Gray
DSP Polka Dot Parade
Markers...Old Olive, Basic Gray and Daffodil Delight

Here's hoping you do as the sentiment on this card says, Celebrate Today!

MDS Tag

Happy Wednesday!  Sure hope that your day is full of ideas and time to create:)  Below is another tag I created with MyDigitalStudio......It's starting to become addictive, utoh but oh so fun!  It's pretty amazing that simply by adding a shadow to an object, it gives it dimension and really makes it look as if there is a button, for example, sitting on top of the tag! I also added the Splatter Stamp, how cool is that!!!

Enjoy and please stop in again!

Pop Up Posies meet Tea For Two:)  It's a win win in my book!  This is not the type of card that I would mail via the traditional way...this is more of a hand delivered in a homemade envelope with a ribbon around it:)  It's pretty thick with the flower but...oh...if you could see the depth in person!

Cardstock...Crumb Cake, So Saffron

Sent With Love

All things should be sent with love I believe:)  Ok, so I'm not the best at introductions for this Blog..forgive me please:)  Today was the first time I have opened up this Double Sided Paper and let me tell you, I should have opened it when I first got it!  It's got great colors and designs on it!  There is absolutely no stamping done on either one of these cards but...just in case you wanted to know....there is a set that goes with it:)  Simply by cutting out a few pieces of the design and layering them, I whipped up these two in no time flat!  OK OK..I lied, it took me awhile because I couldn't decide where I wanted things to be on them.  There is such as a thing as CASE which stands for Copy And Steal Everything...honestly, it's a compliment when someone wants to copy a card that you have made.  I should have found a card that I liked the layout and copied it!  Lesson learned:)  On to the cards and yep, today there are two, just for you:)

Supplies...
Cardstock...Pool Party and Island Indigo

Hummmmm.....

To start this off today, this card is not my style simply by the color choice!  That being said, I do love every other part of it, just not the colors.  Yep, I pushed myself to use it anyway:)  Amazing how colors set the tone for so many things eh?  Ever get all ready to leave the house and take one final look in the mirror and think "no way"?  Wham!  It hits you why......the colors!  Ok, so maybe that's just me :)

Without further delay, I bring you someone elses colors!!!!!

Stamp...Just Thinking
Cardstock...Very Vanilla, Lucky Limeade and Perfect Plum

Happy #23!

Happy 23rd birthday to our son, Davis!!!  He is unable to receive his birthday card at the moment so I'm sharing it with him via this blog:)  I often send him quotes and Helen Keller is one of my all time FAVORITE people to quote.  Considering our son is a United States Marine, this quote kind of sums it all up for him, I believe:)  SEMPER FI SON! and a very happy birthday!!!

I've used the Distressing Tool on 3 sides of the background piece as well as the quote and layer being it.  Sometimes just by leaving one side alone, it brings out the difference more...does that make sense?  To add more dimension, I also sponged all sides.

Supplies...
Stamp Set...Daring Adventure
Inks...Soft Suede, Night of Navy and Early Espresso
Cardstock...Soft Suede, Night of Navy and Very Vanilla
Distressing Tool, Stamping Sponge, Stampin'Dimensionals and Linen Thread

Davis, hope you have a FANTASTIC day! We love you:)

Vintage Verses

Good Monday Morning!  Hope everyone had a nice, relaxing weekend:)  It's back to hearing the hammering here.  It's ok tho, in the end, it will all be worth it!

Todays card was pretty quick to whip up!  Simple stamping and using our fabulous Framelits!  They make cutting such a breeze.  In almost every post I have done, thus far, there probably have been Framelits used.  Thank you Stampin'Up! for coming up with them!!!  Back to the card, layering white on white with one layer being run thru the BigShot with the Embossing Folder, it makes for great depth.  The Pool Party strip in the center could easily have been made into a banner flag but I chose to leave it plain and just center it...easy peasy!

Supplies...
Stamp Set...Vintage Verses (Sale-A-Bration)
Cardstock...Whisper White, Pool Party and Tea For Two DSP
Inks...Early Espresso
Stripes Embossing Folder
Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack
Pearl Basic Jewels
Apothecary Framelits

A beautiful weather day here then wham! Snow again tonite....Spring where are you?

Enjoy and come back, I love the company:)

TGIF

Good Friday Friends:)

Have you ever been inside your home and had your siding replaced?  Goodness it gets loud!  I'm thankful that we are finally able to replace it and also thankful that I will be able to put on my ear plugs, listen to some good music on free pandora and stamp for awhile!

Today's card is a copy of a card I saw on Pinterest.  I wish I knew who to give credit to for it:(  It's a pretty simply layout which I am really loving these days.  I use to put as many layers on a card as I could before I could consider it complete...no more!  I save those layers for my shabby chic mood days:)  Sometimes all you need, for a great layer, is a piece of cardstock run thru your BigShot with an embossing folder.  As you can tell on this card, there are several pieces of cardstock that I used an embossing folder on.  The awesome Pool Party flower is from the brand new Pop Up Posies Kit...can you say AWESOME color combo in the kit?  Simply by clicking the Shop button on this page, it should take you to my website and you can view the catalog and spring mini catalog! Give it a whirl, it won't hurt, I promise:)  And if you see some things that you would love to purchase, your lovely UPS driver will gladly deliver it directly to your home:)

Supplies...
Cardstock...Whisper White, Early Espresso and Calypso Coral
Stripes Embossing Folder and Polka Dots Embossing Folder
Hearts a Flutter Framelits
flowers from the Pop Up Posies Designer Kit
3/4" circle punch

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I have to share...I had an order come in today and I was itching to get everything put together and put away.  Once I pulled out some of the new toys, I got busy with todays card.  Might I add, I LOVE the doilies and flower trim!!!  Simply by sponging ink onto the flowers, I was able to change the color to go with my card.  I have seen people use markers on them, spritz them and dip into reinkers!  The sky is the limit with these and they are simply wonderful to work with!  I also used another new toy on this card, the new Distress Tool. WOW does it work like a charm!  Notice the rough edges it gives the crumb cake layer.  Btw...I also sponged the doily so it wasn't so clean and bright;)

My Digital Studio

I don't know about you but I have a hard time convincing myself that I can learn something new when it comes to "computer" things!  I am THRILLED to share that I DID learn something new and I am going to continue to learn all I can regarding Stampin'Up! MyDigitalStudio!!!  It is like stamping but with your computer and your choices of colors and patterns, etc.  I had the hardest time falling asleep last night due to the fact that I kept creating tags in my mind!  I hope you enjoy my FIRST EVER digital tag that I created yesterday.  I had a blast!

I have absolutely no idea what downloads
I used on this tag, my bad!

Tea For Two

Happy Mardi Gras!  If I had been a bit more organized, I would have attempted a Mardi Gras card in the famous colors of the celebration!  If you have never been to New Orleans, I strongly encourage you to find the time! IT IS A BLAST!  If nothing else, I would go again just for the food and hospitality!

Todays card is without a saying for now as I'm not sure which person I am going to send it to.  There are several that were listed on the Church Bulletin so I've got my work cut out for me later today.  There is something about going out to your mailbox and seeing that someone took the time and put in the love to send you a card.  I was lucky and received a beautiful card made with love from a dear friend of mine just yesterday!  Thank you again Jill!!!

Welcome to another Monday:)  May it be the start of a wonderful week for everyone! The sun is actually shining in Ohio today and for that I am thankful:)

Todays card has a manly touch to it as I wanted to surprise a certain someone in the mail:) It worked!  Sometimes, simply by the colors that you choose, can determine guy or gal card.  For those of you that have troubles picking out colors, might I suggest our Color Coach!  It is loaded with color combinations that you wouldn't think to put together but yet somehow they work!  Also, grab a catalog or magazine and browse the color combinations you find in there.  EXPERIMENT:)

Crumbled

First off, I hope all of you on the East Coast are safe and continue to be during your massive winter storm! Button down the hatches and go create:)

I seem to hold onto the packing that comes with my Stampin'Up! orders in the hopes that it will "come in handy".  I don't know about you, but I love the crumbled look of it when I unpack all my goodies and just can't seem to put it into the recycling bin without at least experimenting with it's charm:)  I'm happy with the outcome of this gift bag that I made using one of our many dies.  Hope it inspires you to look around at what you have in your "to toss" pile and go nuts playing!

On Hand

I am trying to get into the habit of making several cards at once to have on hand.  It is a hard task for me as I love to make cards for people as I need them.  You know, personalize each and every one so that there are no duplicates.  But......when life calls for a Sympathy card, one isn't usually in the mood to whip one up at a moments notice right?  So...I have decided to have several of these on hand at all times so that I can promptly get them mailed when the need arises.  I love the simplicity of the layout and simply by changing the colors, it can give the card an entirely different look.

Supplies...
Stamp Sets...Occasions Alphabet, Hello, Doily
Cardstock...Not Quite Navy, Whisper White and Cajun Craze
Inks...Not Quite Navy and Cajun Craze
Snail Adhesive

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

My Valentine

Terrific Tuesday Everyone!  Do you all have your Valentines cards made for those you love? Me? NOW I do:)  Sometimes it's hard for me to come up with the colors I want to use and when that happens, I always end up with Basic Black as my main color.  Everything goes with black right?  I added some black splashes on the front by spritzing it with our Spritzer and black marker.  I think it adds a little aged look to the Sahara Sand.  Moving on.....I am so in love with these Framelits that I'm hoping that Stampin'Up! will continue to create them for many more stamp sets to come!  Makes whipping up a card super simple!!!

I decided to share the inside of this card as well:)  Hope you like!

Journal

I have said this before and I will probably repeat myself many times over...I love shabby chic anything!  The Tea For Two Designer Series Paper talks to me, alot!  I wonder if there is a help group I should find or form, nah, it's too easy to use for layering and just creating with!

While coming up with this in my mind, I kept thinking of my daughter, Mary.  I plan on giving this to her for no other reason except the fact that I love her to pieces!  She can use it to write her thoughts in, make grocery lists or make reminder notes for herself.  Whatever she uses it for, I hope it brings a smile to her to know that I made it from the heart, every single part of it:)  Love you sweetheart!
